About Your Therapist
With over 20 years of clinical experience, I am dedicated to providing trauma-informed, evidence-based therapy with a whole person approach to recovery.
Julia McQuillen-Wright
Clinical Psychologist, BABCP Accredited CBT Therapist, EMDR Practitioner
Welcome. I'm Julia McQuillen-Wright, and I have dedicated the past 20+ years to helping individuals and families heal from trauma and navigate the complexities of neurodivergence. My journey in this field has taught me that recovery isn't just about managing symptoms—it's about supporting the whole person to reclaim their sense of safety, identity, and purpose.
I specialize in working with children and adults who have experienced PTSD, complex trauma, and those navigating life with autism and other neurodivergent conditions. Over three decades, I've witnessed remarkable transformations when people are met with compassion, understanding, and evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
My practice is grounded in being trauma-informed, evidence-based, and committed to a whole person recovery experience. This means I don't just treat symptoms—I work collaboratively with you to understand your unique story, strengths, and goals. Whether you're seeking help for yourself or your child, my approach is always compassionate, tailored, and designed to foster lasting change.
I hold accreditations from the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) for CBT, specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma, and am registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). I continue to engage in ongoing professional development to ensure I'm offering you the most current, effective therapeutic interventions available.

Neurodiversity-Affirming
